ADAMS TOWNSHIP (KDKA) — A house fire sent crews to a house in Butler County.
The home is located in the 1000-block of Sophia Lane in Adams Township.
Lightning apparently hit the house at about 1:30 p.m.
“When we first got here, we were encountering really severe fire conditions very quickly into the fire fight,” the fire chief told KDKA-TV.
A woman who was home at the time got out safely. The children were still at school.
The owner told KDKA-TV the house was listed for sale.
The fire caused about $500,000 in damage.
A firefighter from Zelienople was taken away by ambulance due to the heat.
